Mustilli Falanghina/Piedirosso/Aglianico, Sannio, Campania
100% Aglianico from calcareous, volcanic and clay soils. Manually harvested around the end of October, fermentation in stainless steel tanks then aged inn stainless steel and partly in French oak before six months in bottle. Deep ruby with purple hints. Intense and persistent flavors of dark and red fruit, sour black cherry, herbal plants, lavender, sage and thyme. Dry, savory, fairly tannic, full with peppery notes. Pairs well with soups, Italian lasagna, savory rice dishes, beef, chicken dishes and soft cheeses.
